About Andrea Russell, DAHM, EAMP

I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (DAHM), as well as a Washington state-licensed East Asian Medical Practitioner (EAMP; WA License #AC00002906. I received my Master's degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) in August 2006, and then returned to pursure a doctoral degree, which was awarded in August 2019. I am Board Certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and serve on the faculty at SIEAM. In addition, I hold a Bachelor's degree from Haverford College in Pennsylvania. Prior to becoming an acupunturist, I practiced Western Medicine as an Emergency Medical Technician.

  • Board Certified Chinese Herbalist
  • National Association for Detox Acupuncture (NADA) certification for the treatment of addictions
  • Kang Wen Clinic Integrative Oncology Program for advanced clinical training
  • Licensed Acupuncturist in Washington State

In addition, I have spent time in China at the Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine taking courses and doing clinical observation in local hospitals. When I am not seeing patients, I translate Chinese medical texts into English for the People's Medical Publishing House (located in Beijing), oversee the library at the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine, and sit on the school's admissions committee.
